Altered States: Remembering Our Birthright
Why conversations about altered states are difficult — and how it all connects to the Akashic Records
When my teacher asked me if I wanted to do ayahuasca, I was mortified.
Ayahuasca, I thought. Ayahuasca? (And he seemed like such a good person!) I didn’t show it, but I couldn’t believe he was one of “those people”. Those people!
And maybe that was exactly the cognitive dissonance I needed in order to make me probe deeper. To understand the roots of my own annoyance. Because ayahuasca wasn’t to blame. But there was indeed much to be angry about.
I had heard about plant-induced altered states a lot by then. Someone I knew said he sniffed some plant of the tobacco family which made him feel God’s presence. He then proceeded to learn to brew ayahuasca and live naked in a cave for 2 weeks, drinking the brew from a big plastic bottle.
